After leaving school John joined the Armed Forces and enjoyed 6 years of service before leaving the Army to begin a career in transport. He joined a local haulage company as a driver, concentrating on moving abnormal loads throughout the UK, and from here John went on to drive for several National companies spending many years driving in Europe and the former Eastern Block where he gained valuable experience in the movement of abnormal loads.
Problem solving and organisation came naturally to John and, with his experience of driving, it was a natural progression for him to move into management where his career soared. John has worked for some of the top heavy haulage companies, expanding on his knowledge over the years to run major contracts.
